Ultra Trail Set Departures

What to Expect

Group of runners in athletic gear running through a muddy trail with water splashing, against the backdrop of a bright sun and open landscape with trees.

A 4-night, 100 km ultra-trail connecting two UNESCO World Heritage Sites -the Okavango Delta to the ancient Tsodilo Hills.

Botswana is one of the only places in the world where such a journey is possible, and we’ve spent a year planning and testing the route and the journey. We've partnered with specialist ultra- trail race experts, secured qualified medics, and mapped every refuelling station and overnight location.

Our dedication to history, culture and community makes this experience more than a challenge, it’s a complete immersion with the true Botswana - from the channels of the Okavango panhandle through remote fishing communities, across Kalahari scrubland alongside ancient megascale parallel dunes, culminating beneath the sacred “Mountains of the Gods” at Tsodilo Hills.

This isn't a race. It's an intimate expedition for the kind of travellers who don't just want to see Africa; they want to feel it underfoot, earn it with every kilometre, and share it with a handful of fellow adventurers doing something nobody else has done there.

What’s Included

Aerial view of a winding river flowing through flat grassy wetlands under a clear blue sky.

❋ Professional Support

You will be accompanied by an expert trail guide with extensive local knowledge. A qualified medic will travel with the group throughout as well as dedicated support staff that will be stationed at all refreshment and refuelling points to ensure you are well-nourished, hydrated, and fully supported every step of the way.

❋ Accommodation & Meals

Your journey includes four nights accommodation - three nights at Nxamaseri Island Lodge and one night at Tsodilo Hills Sleep-Out Expedition Camp on a full board basis, with all meals and drinks included, and a special celebration dinner upon your return to Nxamaseri.

❋ All Internal Logistics

Your journey begins in Maun and ends in Kasane, Botswana, with all internal logistics taken care of - from transfers to the trailhead and luggage movement between camps, to emergency support, communications, park fees, community contributions, and refreshment points along the route. If you would like to extend your trip pre or post, please reach out to us for further help.

❋ Experiences & Activities

All activities are guided, including trail running and hiking, traditional mokoro crossings (when water levels permit), cultural interactions with local communities, a San Bushman cultural evening at Tsodilo Hills Sleep-Out Expedition Camp, guided exploration of Tsodilo Hills rock art sites, and an optional summit of Male Hill. It is worth noting that the group will need to remain together so some walking and running will be required.
